Conventional battery systems, however, are geared towards commercial applications and not well-suited to meet the demanding environments called for by military applications, e.g., low temperature operation, high temperature storage, and high power performance. Quallion has developed a unique Li-ion chemistry which can operate safely and deliver high power operated from -42°C to +71°C. Demonstrated power capabilities at these extreme temperatures range from 3.5C to 19C rates.
