| Abstract |
The binder in a lithium ion battery bonds the active ingredients to the current collectors, and it bonds the particles of the active ingredients to each other. The application of three PVDF binder materials with different molecular weights was studied in LiFePO4 cathodes under identical conditions. Interestingly, the higher MW grades produced electrodes with higher peel strength, and cells produced with these electrodes showed higher capacity. |
