Abstract   Five Battery Module Assemblies (BMAs), two Test, two Flight, and one Spare Module, were manufactured in 1988-89 for the initial Hubble Space Telescope (HST) deployment on April 25, 1990. After 19 years and one month of on-orbit cycle operations (104,125 cycles), the Flight Modules (S/N 1021 and S/N 1022) were replaced during the recent Service Mission #4 (SM4), and returned to earth aboard the Shuttle Atlantis. Upon arrival at GSFC, they were subjected to an “as-received” evaluation of their remaining electrical capacity. BMA S/N 1021 was placed into cold storage, and BMA S/N 1022 was subjected to several additional electrical performance characterization studies. These studies will be reported, as well as plans for additional cell DPA studies to characterize age processes.
