Abstract Title   Status of Lithium Ion Cell Certification at EaglePicher Technologies, LLC Abstract Author(s)   Jeff Dermott, Eric Quee, James Bond Abstract Presenter   Jeff Dermott Abstract   In 2006 EaglePicher management made a commitment to manufacture large format Lithium Ion cells. A significant financial investment was made to establish a state of the art facility where Lithium Ion cells could be manufactured to the quality standards of the Aerospace industry today. A key part of the plan to manufacture Lithium Ion cells at EaglePicher was the government technology transfer which took place in 2007. This qualified technology now has significant life cycle data and is a viable energy storage option for satellite manufacturers. This paper will provide the status of the government technology as it exists at EaglePicher today and provide a performance and schedule update for the certification of the facility.
